Designer Specs and a Moving Tenant
The homeowner came with a designer’s color deck already in hand: Swiss Coffee for the open living areas and a deep green, Vintage Vogue, for the master suite. The catch was logistics. A roommate was still living in the master bedroom for the first week.
So the job was split in two: everything except the master in week one, then the master suite, bath and touch-ups the following Monday to Wednesday. The client knew the plan to the day before we started.
One Green, Three Sheens
Color drenching only looks effortless when every surface is the exact same color in the right sheen. Walls got Cashmere eggshell, the ceiling got flat so it recedes, and the trim, crown, doors and French doors got Emerald Urethane satin, which is harder and catches light at the edges.
The green was color-matched at Sherwin-Williams from the designer’s Benjamin Moore spec, approved on a sample before a single gallon was tinted.
Primer Is Not Optional on a Drench
Going from white to a saturated green on walls and ceiling at once means every surface gets primer first, then two finish coats. Skip it and the ceiling will always look a shade lighter than the walls.
Doors and French doors were sanded, deglossed and brushed in satin so the panels read cleanly. Ceiling vents and speaker grilles were painted to match instead of left white, a small detail that makes the drench feel complete.

Two Phases, Zero Surprises
A Suite That Wraps Around You
The drench works because nothing breaks the color: ceiling, crown, doors and even the vents are the same green in sheens that only differ in how they catch light. Against the calm Swiss Coffee of the main rooms, the master suite feels like a destination.
